JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a Band 8a GP Lead Practice Pharmacist looking for a rewarding locum role in Essex? We have an exciting opportunity for you!

  • Job Title: GP Lead Practice Pharmacist (Band 8a)

  • Duration: Ongoing

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm (30-minute break)

  • Start Date: ASAP

What You'll Be Doing:Join our client's team as a GP Lead Practice Pharmacist and take the lead on managing long-term conditions in a primary care setting. In this role, you will:

  • Run clinical review clinics focused on asthma, COPD, hypertension, and mental health

  • Prescribe independently and optimise patient outcomes through personalised medication reviews

  • Collaborate with GPs, nurses, and other primary care professionals

  • Deliver high-quality care aligned with national guidelines

  • Keep accurate clinical documentation and support QOF-related activity

Requirements & Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current GPhC registration as a pharmacist

  • Independent Prescriber status

  • Experience working in a primary care pharmacy setting

  • Confidence running clinics and managing long-term conditions

  • Completion of or enrolment on the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (ideal)

  • Strong clinical judgement and communication skills

Working Hours & Contract Duration:This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, offering ongoing locum work with the possibility of remote elements. Flexibility and long-term potential for the right candidate.
