(CANDIDATES FOR THIS ROLE MUST BE ALREADY BASED WITHIN COMMUTING DISTANCE OF READING / BRACKNELL / CAMBERLEY OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE AT SHORT NOTICE)

A new vacancy for an experienced Technical Estimator / Tendering Specialist with new fast-growing division of leading UK electrical solutions provider.

Key candidate requirements:

  • You will need to be experienced in Electrical Estimating/Tendering (minimum 5yrs experience) working within the Electrical Services sector.
  • Technical understanding of SWITCHGEAR and POWER DISTRIBUTION BOARDS.
  • Experience estimating for these types of products.
  • Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Good computer skills, including Word and Excel, AutoCAD (further training can be provided).
  • Effective communication both verbal and written.
  • Efficient, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to targets and goals within set guidelines and parameters.

Main responsibilities:

  • Tender pricing - respond to tender queries, prepare and submit competitive tender packages and quotations in accordance with the clients' requirements.
  • Job costing - calculate the price of time, labour and materials for logistics for these submissions.
  • Managing and assisting with the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires for tenders.
  • Prioritise, manage own workflow and maintain accurate record of tenders submitted.
  • Arrange supplier documents to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of estimate.
  • Determine contractual, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit.
