AWE is currently looking for enthusiastic Craft Machinists to carry out a wide range of craft machining operations on new, cutting-edge equipment, in the manufacture and development of production and trials components to support the business' Mission Statement.

Package - £27,420 - £39,060 dependant on skills and experience plus allowances

To be considered for this role you must have a recognised apprenticeship and NVQ Level 2 minimum.
Responsibilities outlined below are not exclusive, but there is an expectation you will operate a variety of machine tools such as computer numerical code (CNC), 5axis/3axis lathes and milling machines, precision grinders, and welders.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver the production of high precision components to meet the required customer specification.
- Maintain safe operation of machine tools and all other related equipment.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality and be a great team player.
- Multi-task across multiple machine tools and manufacturing areas.
- Undertake route cause analysis for problem solving.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Act as a role model and mentor peers and apprentices as required by the business area.
Who You'll Be:
- Siemens Programming experience is advantageous, but not essential.
- Good understanding of turning, setting, and operating.
- Knowledge of turn/mill is desirable.
- Carry out 6s activities in line with business area requirements.
- To undertake and maintain all training in your core role and linked disciplines.
- Understand and execute compliance with necessary procedures in the execution of the role.
- Participate in task review planning activities and route card generation where required.
- Contribute to the drafting of safety and operational documentation as required by the business area.
