Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Lead Commissioning Engineer to work for one of our clients based in Reading, UK.

You will require 'Right to Work' in UK, unfortunately no sponsorship will be available for this role.

We have extensive experience in offshore and onshore facilities, specializing in asset management services throughout all life cycle phases from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning. Duties and Responsibilities

The role involves providing technical and engineering support for BMS Systems, completing all relevant project documentation, and performing highly skilled commissioning testing on instrumentation and control apparatus as per written procedures.

Responsibilities include commissioning activities on control circuits, VSDs, AHUs, level control devices, flow control devices, temperature control devices, and pressure control devices. The role also requires reviewing and executing commissioning procedures for assigned instrument/electrical tasks with guidance from the Project Commissioning Engineer, reading and interpreting vendor documentation, project drawings, schematic diagrams, and equipment manuals, and analyzing work problems to make corrections for system assignments. Leading the technical and quality requirements on projects, ensuring adherence to company quality processes and procedures, allocating tasks to the commissioning test team, and monitoring progress are also key aspects.

Establishing positive working relationships with immediate supervision and personnel departments, following all safe systems of work, and supporting the Project Commissioning Engineer in all aspects of project technical delivery and scope management are essential. Additionally, the role involves identifying project opportunities and variations, supporting the commissioning team in identifying and managing risks and issues, developing and planning the project delivery strategy for each BMS System, and providing health and safety leadership by example.

Function

The EC&I Test Team Leader (Commissioning) is normally expected to undertake the following:

  • Undertake or manage site surveys as required.
  • Undertake or manage Toolbox talks within the team as required.
  • Develop test specification and design testing methodology with the team.
  • Develop site work documentation with team input as necessary (risk assessment, method statement, site test documentation).
  • Develop O&M documentation with input from the project team as necessary.
  • Supervise full integrated system testing, CFAT, SAT, and installation & calibration testing if required.
  • Undertake or manage observations, variations, and reworks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous technical experience in the field of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control.
  • Previous experience in the Nuclear Industry.
  • Previous experience supervising a team of Electrical/Instrument technicians.
