Premier Work Support are excited to be recruiting for a Mould-Shop Production Manager for a prestigious, long standing manufacturing client based in Reading.

The ideal candidates will have experience and knowledge of Production Planning, Injection Moulding, Lean Manufacturing and 5S with Continuous Improvement. We are looking for a proactive, motivational individual to support the management of 60+ employees across both day & night shift teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning and organisation of a busy Mould-shop that consists of 40 injection mould machines ranging from 25 ton machines to 668 ton, as well as have 5 extruder lines and 3 flexible PVC machines.
  • Working closely with the Mould-shop Technical Manager.
  • Liaising with other members of management to correct any production issues.
  • Proficient with lean techniques (5S).
  • Managing day to day activities of the Production team.
  • Increasing efficiency of the Production team through regular coaching.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure continuity of supply to production and goods out.
  • Supporting quality management, waste reduction and environmental sustainability targets.
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager to deliver Mould-shop improvement plan.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety obligations are met, working closely with the group Health & Safety Manager.

Essential experience & attributes:

  • Previous experience working as a Production Manager/Manufacturing Manager within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of various assembly and manufacturing environments.
  • Good knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing methods (5S).
  • A confident communicator with other members of staff and senior management.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team.
  • Experience with automated based manufacturing would be desirable.

Hours of work:

  • Monday 08:00am- 18:00pm
  • Tuesday - Thursday 07:00am 18:00pm
  • Friday 07:00am-13:00pm
