Academics LTD are working with a specialist school in Reading who provide highly skilled personal care for children aged 5 to 18 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school is looking for a compassionate and positive Specialist with an interest in Psychology. The position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside qualified SEN practitioners and psychologists.

Requirements:

  • Close work with external practitioners and psychologists
  • Understanding of Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Helping students develop emotional regulation and social skills
  • Demonstrated Interest in working with children or in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Proactive, calm, positive, interest in Psychology

This is a great opportunity for Graduates looking to gain experience in an education setting, or someone who wants to work in psychology or Mental Health. No experience required. Recognised qualifications include Degree, Level 3 qualifications + or any other experience working with SEN children.

This is also an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking experience working in Education, Teaching or Mental Health. The Specialist role will enable you to deepen vital skills through working on a 1:1 and group basis with children with Autism, behavioural challenges, sensory issues, and communication difficulties. Additionally, many of the pupils have coexisting mental health needs so this would be a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to start a career in Mental Health.
