We are searching for an experienced Consultant with M&A experience to join a newly created Corporate Finance Advisory team in the Berkshire area (hybrid basis). As a trusted advisor, you will guide company owners on a journey towards a potential sale, often over a 2-3-year period, helping them to navigate any changes as required. You will play a pivotal role in helping them build value and will utilise your strong financial grounding, data analysis expertise, and commercial insight to provide actionable strategies that optimise a company’s value and position it for a successful sale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain close relationships with clients throughout their pre-sale journey, ensuring continuous alignment with their objectives and the market environment

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyse operational performance metrics, and market trends to identify key drivers of value within client businesses

  • Advising Sellers: Guide business owners and advising on the steps required to increase business value and readiness for market

  • Change Management: Assist companies in navigating organisational change, ensuring they are strategically positioned for growth or sale while mitigating risk

  • Commercial Fundraising: Support other clients in preparing for and securing commercial fundraising, leveraging financial insights and market understanding to attract investors

  • Financials: Using financial data to help sellers make informed decisions

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Consultancy or Corporate Finance background, with broad experience in business growth/scaling up SMEs

  • Background in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to extract insights and identify key value drivers

  • Solid financial grounding, including a deep understanding of financial statements, KPIs, and valuation metrics

  • Experience in commercial fundraising, advising on investor engagement and fundraising strategy

  • Demonstrated ability to advise sellers on maximising business value and navigating complex transactions

  • Experience in change management, guiding businesses through restructuring, growth, or pre-sale transformations

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative approach
