Assistant Buyer

NonStop's Client is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join a Central Government Body. This opportunity will offer you stability through the current challenging market, as it is a 12 month Hybrid contract position.

This is a superb opportunity for someone wanting to work within the Nuclear Environment which is highly regulated.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Utilize expertise to handle complex buying tasks and resolve issues promptly.
  • Oversee Service Centre reporting and manage supplier relationships as needed.
  • Maintain accurate purchase order data in Fusion system.
  • Build relationships with internal SCM teams and stakeholders to ensure timely order placement.
  • Promote high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review requisitions, place and expedite purchase orders to meet business needs.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders for accurate and timely order delivery.
  • Ensure SCM processes and tools are followed, using a fully evaluated supply base.
  • Resolve issues related to orders and deliveries quickly.
  • Drive process improvements and best practices within the Service Centre function.
  • Mentor and coach team members while adhering to company standards in sustainability, safety, ethics, and quality.

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a procurement/purchasing environment
  • Strong Admin skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills

An Active Clearance is required for this role.
