CMS Procurement Officer

Theale, Berkshire

Monday to Friday - 9am to 5:30pm (Hybrid)

Our client, a leading provider of Managed Equipment Services (MES) to the NHS and private healthcare sector in the UK seeks a CMS Procurement Officer based at their head office in Theale, Berkshire.

They are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Procurement Officer to join their dynamic procurement function with CMS. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective and efficient procurement of goods and services, supporting the company's strategic objectives.

To be considered for this role you must have at least 3 years previous experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably within the NHS or healthcare along with inventory management system experience.

A minimum of 3 years UK based relevant work experience is a must for this role.

Purpose of the role

The Procurement Officer will play a key role supporting and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This is a hands-on role with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering value to the organisation mainly within operational procurement and purchasing tasks using multiple systems.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement and Purchasing:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and negotiate competitive contracts
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring ongoing collaboration and performance improvement
  • Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks and disruptions
  • Placing orders across multiple systems
  • Develop system superuser status across multiple IMS and P2P systems

Contract Management:

  • Support to Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Support with Monitoring supplier performance against contractual obligations and address any issues promptly
  • Support with Managing contract renewals and amendments effectively

Operational Excellence:

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of procurement processes and procedures
  • Utilise procurement tools and systems effectively to streamline operations and improve efficiency
  • Analyse procurement data to identify trends, identify areas for improvement, and generate cost-saving opportunities

Teamwork & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, finance, legal) to ensure successful procurement outcomes
  • Provide Procurement guidance and support to various internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • GCSEs /A-levels or equivalent - Essential
  • Logistics/ Supply chain/ Procurement qualification - Desirable
  • CIPS Level 3/4 or above preferable or similar procurement qualification - Desirable

Skills

  • Competency in MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint - Essential
  • Negotiation and influencing skills - Desirable
  • Knowledge of NHS and Public procurement regulations and guidelines - Desirable

Experience

  • Project Management/ Coordination Experience - Desirable
  • Inventory Management System Experience - Essential
  • NHS or Health Care Management Experience - Desirable
  • 3 years of Procurement or Supply Chain Experience - Ideally within NHS or Healthcare - Essential
  • E-Procurement System and Ordering Experience - Essential

Mobility Requirements

  • Role location - Hybrid
  • UK travel - On occasion to all sites around UK to fit business needs

Benefits

  • Royal London Pension - 5% employer contribution
  • Death in Service Scheme after probation - 4 times salary
  • Maternity - 21 weeks full enhanced maternity pay; this is inclusive of Statutory Maternity pay. Plus, after the employee has returned from Maternity Leave for 3 months, a 10% bonus will be paid, (with a commitment to work for 6 months plus)
