Role Overview:
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for overseeing the procurement activities, ensuring the efficient, cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while adhering to company policies and aligning with organizational objectives. This role will focus on vendor management, procurement strategy, cost optimization, inventory control, team leadership, and performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management
- Identify, assess, and build strong relationships with key suppliers
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring suppliers meet quality standards and deliver on time
- Procurement Strategy
- Develop and implement procurement policies and processes
- Lead the RFQ (Request for Quote) and tendering processes, ensuring targets for cost, quality, and compliance with tendering guidelines are met
- Ensure procurement activities align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
- Cost Management
- Monitor procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Conduct market research to track price trends and secure competitive pricing
- Inventory Control
- Work with the inventory team to manage stock levels and prevent shortages or excess inventory
- Collaborate with the inventory team to improve and streamline inventory processes
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the procurement team to achieve departmental goals
- Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and plan procurement activities
- Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare procurement performance reports, including cost savings and supplier evaluations
- Use data analytics to identify procurement trends and highlight opportunities for process improvement
Required Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficient in supply chain management and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Experience with INFOR LN is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance standards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification is preferred but not mandatory based on experience
