So, if you want to thrive in a role that challenges and rewards you, read on and apply today!The RoleAs a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in managing procurement activities to ensure the seamless supply of goods and services.Collaborating with the Procurement Manager and Buyers, you will source goods and services both domestically and internationally, ensuring that project needs, budgets, and timelines are met. You will also negotiate contracts, improve supplier terms, and explore opportunities for cost savings while maintaining strong supplier relationships.Furthermore, your responsibilities will range from analysing procurement data, contributing to supplier performance reviews, and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures, to leveraging your commercial and financial expertise to address issues, and support the Accounts team.Additionally, you will:- Line manage two Buyers- Process purchase orders using Sage 200 and record agreed pricing adjustments- Monitor supplier performance and address price, quality, or delivery issues- Analyse cost data and update internal pricing databases as required- Ensure adherence to HS&E policies and company purchasing guidelinesAbout YouTo be considered as a Senior Buyer, you will need:- A CIPS qualification (beneficial but not essential)- Proven experience in procurement, preferably within construction or manufacturing.- Strong knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, and cost breakdown processes.- Commercial and financial awareness with an understanding of operational impacts.- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.- The ability to read technical drawings.- Proficiency in Excel and Sage (or similar systems).- A full, valid driving licence.Other organisations may call this role Procurement Specialist, Supply Chain Procurement Specialist, Supply Chain Manager, Supply Chain Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Lead, or Strategic Buyer.Webrecruit, Be More Effective and Sapphire Balconies are equal opportunities employers, value diversity, and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and applicants for employment.
