The Senior Buyer position is a permanent role located in Berkshire, offering a salary range of £40,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Candidates should have previous experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role within the Civil Engineering or Construction sector.
The role involves purchasing materials and sub-contractor services for various projects, as well as managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
Excellent communication skills, time management, and proficiency in MS Office are essential, with experience in procurement software being desirable.
While a background in Quantity Surveying is beneficial, it is not essential; candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team.

JOB- Senior BuyerLOCATION- BerkshireTERM- PermanentSALARY- £40,000 - £60,000 per annum dependent on experience (please advise what you’re looking for) My client work within Civil Engineering, and they are looking to take on a Buyer on a permanent basis, in the Berkshire area.The Senior Buyerwill ideally have the following attributes:

Previous experience working within a similar Buyer / Purchasing role within a Civil Engineering / Construction environment ideally
Supporting with purchasing activities for a range of Commercial, Residential and Infrastructure projects
Have excellent knowledge and experience in purchasing materials and also sub-contractor services
Any previous exposure to working with procurement software would be desirable
Be able to extract material quantities from construction drawings i.e drainage
Confident using MS Office
A background in Quantity Surveying could be useful but not essential
Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail

The Senior Buyer role will involve:

Working with colleagues in Estimating and Quantity Surveying
Material sourcing and purchasing – a range of construction materials such as concrete, aggregates and other supplies
Sub-contract sourcing and purchasing for various projects
Relationship management with suppliers and site teams
Working with procurement software to place orders and review invoices
Contract negotiations - work with suppliers to secure the best value
Regularly monitoring supplier performance to ensure reliability and quality
