Senior Category Manager

Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a Senior Category Manager to support and lead on high value procurements in the construction (or utilities) space, ideally within in highly regulated area (e.g. Nuclear, Energies, Defence etc)

This is a contract opportunity for 13months requiring 2 days onsite near Reading.

The role is to Develop, implement and drive Category Strategy and oversee the execution of the end to end strategic sourcing process for all complex and high value Procurements within the categories in the group. You will deliver as well as anticipate business requirements and needs, always in compliance with Code of Conduct and Code of Business Ethics.

Essential requirements include;

  • Experience of high value procurement
  • Experience of developing strategies
  • Experience of leading on procurements
  • Experience of setting up NEC contracts
  • Leadership and People skills

Desirable requirements include;

  • MCIPS or equivalent
  • Utilities or general construction background
  • Procurement regulations experience
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office, Fusion /Oracle, Jaggaer.
  • Experience uploading onto CAMS (Commercial Assurance Management System)
