We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Category Manager to join the Procurement Team within a leading telecommunications team in the Reading area. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key procurement categories, developing and implementing sourcing strategies, and delivering cost savings while ensuring service excellence. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business to drive value and innovation. This role is offered on a hybrid basis, working 2/3 days at home Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies to enhance procurement effectiveness.

  • Lead supplier negotiations and manage strategic supplier relationship

  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and value generation

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations

  • Identify and implement best practices in procurement and supplier management

  • Drive innovation andefficiency within the procurement function

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience in procurement with category management within a telecommunications or similar technology sector

  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and analytical skills

  • Expertise in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation

  • Ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in cost reduction initiatives

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Knowledge of procurement systems and processes
