Quantity Surveyor - Local Authority (Berkshire)

6-Month Contract | Hybrid Working | 37 Hours Per Week

Our Local Authority client based in Berkshire is currently recruiting for Quantity Surveyor to join their Team as soon as possible for an ongoing contract for at least 6 months, this role is offering 45 per hour Umbrella LTD and hybrid working,

Responsibilities:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will ensure effective cost control across a variety of housing projects. You will be responsible for preparing estimates, contract documentation, and managing financial aspects of contractors and suppliers-ensuring compliance with Council regulations.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and operate Schedule of Rates
  • Monitor contractor and supply chain costs
  • Provide technical and professional advice to Councillors and Officers
  • Manage tender procedures, assessments, and contract documents
  • Oversee the trade productivity scheme
  • Support risk management and compliance with CDM regulations

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: RICS/BSc/HND/HNC in Construction or related field
  • Experience: Social housing experience is highly desirable
  • Expertise: Procurement, contract management & budgetary control
  • Knowledge: Statutory Legislation, Building Regulations, and risk management
