About the Role:
Bennett and Game are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of groundworks and civil engineering projects. This role will involve working closely with project teams to ensure cost efficiency, contract compliance, and financial control across multiple groundwork projects, including roads, drainage, foundations, and external works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management & Budgeting: Prepare accurate cost estimates, forecasts, and budgets for groundwork projects.
- Contract Administration: Assess and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with NEC, JCT, or bespoke agreements.
- Valuations & Payments: Prepare applications for payment, interim valuations, and final accounts.
- Tendering & Procurement: Assist in subcontractor selection, tender documentation, and procurement negotiations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial and contractual risks on projects.
- Change & Variation Control: Evaluate project variations, negotiate costs with subcontractors, and agree on changes with clients.
- Financial Reporting: Provide regular cost reports and project financial updates to senior management.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with clients, site teams, and external consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundwork/civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and commercial management.
- Experience in pricing, procurement, and tendering processes.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Excel.
- Full UK driving licence.
