Senior Quantity Surveyor (NEC3 / NEC4)
Reading or Iver, with flexible working.
Package: 65,000 - 75,000 base plus car allowance or electric car, bonus, healthcare.
We're looking for a senior quantity surveyor to come and join a tier one contractor building utility networks across the South of England and this is a long term deal, working with one of the power companies in the UK.
This business is fast becoming the tier one of choice, with a range of different business streams but this particular position is on a permanent basis, and will sit in the power division - but with exposure to the different forms of utilities.
Assigned to a specific client that is a household name, the company to continue to expand so need additional QS resource to ensure effective cost management of the tier 2 contractors, and ensuring everything is flowing smoothly by way of claims into the client. Key is to mitigate any exposure of the company to commercial risk via poor contract administration.
We're looking for someone with excellent commercial acumen and a proven track record delivering commercially sound utility or large scale infrastructure projects.
You are going to be responsible for detailed cost control and recovery of value on the project, working for a tier one contractor on a multiple year programme across the South East.
This is stable, long term and the team continues to grow, offering good chances to keep advancing but also to get involved long term in the different utility divisions of the company, so water, rail, telecoms etc.
Reporting to the regional commercial manager, you'll manage effective dispute resolution with clients and subcontractors, whilst promoting a robust subcontractor management process with the associated governance. On the client side, you'll manage submission of payment assessments and make sure cash collection is prompt.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable senior / leadership level experience in quantity surveying experience in a similar position with a main contractor or client within utilities or civils.
In depth knowledge of NEC 3 or 4 contracts and that's ideally along with CEMAR. RICS chartered status a big advantage.
Role is either Reading or Iver based and you'll likely be in the office 3-4 days a week, so need to be living within commuting distance.
