We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor working on two significant pipe-laying projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong civils background and experience in utilities projects to contribute to these impactful works.
About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor:
The successful candidate will manage the financial and contractual aspects of two major projects:
- A 10m pipe-laying project near Reading, expected to span 4 years.
- A 4m project in Oxford, encompassing bridge refurbishment and pipe-laying on the bridge.
This Senior Quantity Surveyor role offers hybrid working but will require occasional site visits. Candidates based in the Reading/Oxford area or South and West London are ideally suited.
Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Managing project budgets, costs, and financial forecasting
- Administering NEC contracts and ensuring compliance
- Preparing and negotiating final accounts
- Conducting site visits to monitor progress and address any financial issues
- Collaborating with project teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery
- Providing regular financial reports and advice to key stakeholders
Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the civils or utilities sector
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontractor management, specifically NEC Option C
- Experience working on pipe-laying, infrastructure, or utilities projects is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach to cost management
