Business Development Manager
A Reading based established Steel tube punching manufacturer that specialises in slotted and laser cut steel tube for the retail market are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to take the reins of their sales division, with the potential to progress to a sales director position with the autonomy to build a team.
The Business Development Manager will work alongside two directors and a team that solely focus on laser cut steel tube or traditionally punched steel tube. The company has a strong pipeline of work with some incredible names as long-term partnerships and they are looking to capitalise on the fact they are one of the only companies left in the UK who can traditionally punch steel tube as well as laser cutting and flow drilling capabilities.

Ideally you would have a background in steel / construction or manufacturing.

The Business Development Manager Role

The successful Business Development Manager will be the sole sales function of the business. Looking after and nurturing current accounts but with a real focus on new business development. You'll be looking to curate long term sustainable partnerships with Fit Out contractors who typically fit out large retail stores with punched tube shelving.
You'll be responsible for identifying key decision makers in the upper parts of the supply chain to increase the companies Prescence earlier along in the process.
The company is also open to diversifying there clientele from retail into other markets such as defense, security, healthcare and construction so if you're background is from those industries that would be beneficial.
The role itself Is a hybrid role of which you can shape - whether that's in the office, out meeting potentially clients or working from home, autonomy is encouraged here.
Typically the company deliver slotted tube for some of the country's biggest retail outfits.
The Business Development Manager - Requirements
- Good knowledge of steel processing
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with internal teams and external clients.
- Measured approached to difficult situation
- Good understanding of technical drawings
- Highly organised with a methodical approach to managing tasks and meeting deadlines
- Manufacturing/Construction background
