Our client is a highly successful and well-established vehicle leasing, rental and hire company. Due to expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager.

The deal candidate will have previous B2B experience for this role, ideally within the commercial vehicle or leasing and rental environment. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills and a passion for the automotive industry. You will have previous experience working in a field-based role and be self-motivated and hands-on.

You will be responsible for identifying and actively engaging with new customers and calling lapsed customers. Our client will provide you with a vehicle and you will be covering a 40-mile radius of Reading.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and actively engage with new prospective customers for the business

  • Qualify new prospective customers to understand their requirements and guide them in their purchasing needs

  • Liaise with the internal team to prepare and submit quotations to new prospective customers and follow up to secure the order

  • Secure orders from new perspective customers and progress satisfactory delivery through to completion

  • Checking credit safe before approaching new prospective customers

  • Updating the database with client information

The person:

  • Excellent networking, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Commercial and contract negotiation experience
  • A detailed understanding of the potential business within the marketplace gained through previous extensive experience in sales
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding planned sales goals
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with current and potential customers
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment on own initiative and as part of a close-knit team
