Reed Accountancy are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our clients finance team. This is a full time, permanent role working within a team of 4 and serving as the sole Purchase Ledger Clerk.This role is integral to managing purchase ledger processes and ensuring accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Experience in both purchase and sales ledger is preferred, as support for the sales ledger department will be required.
Day to Day of the role:
- Process all incoming purchase invoices.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding unapproved invoices and resolve outstanding queries.
- Manage aged creditor cleanse and ensure new suppliers are onboarded correctly.
- Reconcile monthly statements and maintain accurate records.
- Post and reconcile credit card transactions and check expense claims.
- Keep the accounts mailbox up to date and manage client communications for credit control.
- Cover telephones as needed and prepare payment runs twice a month, plus ad hoc as required.
- Document all costs against jobs and manage petty cash.
- Provide holiday cover for other ledger assistants and perform ad hoc duties as required by the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in purchase ledger and competent in all aspects of accounts payable.
- A team player with high self-motivation and organisational ability.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand the key financial effects of the role and build positive relationships.
- Good reporting skills and competency in Microsoft Office systems, including Excel, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint.
The role is fully office based with a 35 hour week, working 9am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch. The office offers free parking and is close to local bus routes.
