Role Overview:

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient financial operations of the school. You will be responsible for handling day-to-day financial tasks, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the Finance Manager in managing the school's finances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices, purchase orders, and expenses
  • Assisting with budget monitoring and reporting
  • Reconciling bank statements and managing petty cash
  • Assisting with payroll processing
  • Managing financial transactions, including income and expenditure
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with month-end and year-end processes
  • Liaising with suppliers, staff, and parents regarding finance-related queries

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a finance role, preferably within a school or education setting
  • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A relevant finance qualification (AAT or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
