We are inviting applications for the role of English Teacher at our dynamic secondary school in Reading. This permanent position is ideal for a dedicated educator who is passionate about literature and language and eager to inspire and engage with our diverse student body.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Plan, prepare, and present lessons that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes learning and is conducive to the academic and social development of all students.
- Assess and record students’ progress, providing grades and feedback to foster a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders, participating in regular meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of the school curriculum and extra-curricular activities, particularly those focusing on English and literature.
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a specialism in English.
- Experience in teaching English at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of English literature and language curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to implement effective teaching strategies.
- Commitment to ongoing educational development and a willingness to learn new teaching methods and strategies.
