We are working with a brilliant Alternative Provision based in Reading to find enthusiastic candidates to welcome to the team as a Student Behaviour Assistant in October this year. The school caters to students aged 5-19 years old who are not able to access mainstream education. The students attending the school have faced trauma facing permanent exclusion or are not able to access mainstream education for medical reasons.

The school are looking for a Student Behaviour Assistant to provide the students with consistent guidance and encouragement to help them reach their full potential. The students at the school hugely benefit from concentrated assistance throughout the school day, so a majority of the Student Behaviour Assistant's role is performed on a 1-1 basis.

The Student Behaviour Assistant's responsibilities will be:

  • Creating a safe space for pupils to express their emotions and feelings
  • Helping students keep their focus on tasks at hand
  • Giving input and support in therapeutic interventions
  • Helping students further develop their social communication skills
  • Collaborating with class leaders to adjust education health care plans
