Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable children and aspiring to build a career in anti-human trafficking outreach work? Milk Education is offering a rewarding opportunity for graduates to gain invaluable hands-on experience as Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in a primary school setting.
About the Role:You will work closely with children who all have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for their Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school follows the mainstream curriculum but places a strong emphasis on therapies and the development of key social skills, creating a nurturing environment for every child.
This role is perfect for graduates with personal or professional experience in supporting vulnerable children, particularly those who are passionate about advocating for children’s rights and building a foundation for a future career in anti-human trafficking outreach, social care, or advocacy.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to children with SEMH needs.
- Encouraging emotional regulation and supporting students in developing key social and life skills.
- Collaborating with teachers and therapists to deliver a tailored, therapeutic approach to learning.
- Building trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, supported, and understood.
- Supporting children in achieving progress both academically and emotionally.
What We’re Looking For:
- Graduates from relevant fields such as Psychology, Criminology, Social Sciences, or Youth and Community Work (non-graduates with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply).
- A genuine passion for working with vulnerable children and advocating for their needs.
- A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting children with complex needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and staff.
- Personal or professional experience working with vulnerable individuals is highly valued.
