A fantastic school in Reading have an job role available and are looking for a Student Mental Health Assistant to join their staff in providing high quality, continuous support to their students, this February. The school provide education to students who have Complex Learning Disabilities as well as significant Mental, Social and Emotional Needs and would love to welcome a Student Mental Health Assistant. The successful candidate will work on both 1-1 basis with students and in small groups who would benefit from extra concentrated support throughout the school day. As a Student Mental Health Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with children who have display challenging behaviour and have mental health difficulties, meaning there is room for you to gain an extended understanding of how to communicate, regulate and advocate for children in the SEN community.

The school are looking for a committed, confident and well-educated candidate to take on the role of Student Mental Health Assistant and bring enthusiasm and empathy into the classroom. Ideally, the successful applicant will have excellent behaviour management skills, education surrounding Special Educational Needs and experience in either a professional or home environment. The Student Mental Health Assistant will have the opportunity to gain professional experience working along qualified therapists, behaviour consultants and psychologists which could kick-start their entrance into the industry.
