Rate of Pay:     £27,000 – 29,000pa

Duration:          Permanent

Hours:               35 hours/ Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm/4.30 pm

Hybrid:              1 day in the office/ 4 days home based with regular travel across theCounty

 

Supporting Futures are recruiting on behalf of an inspirational national charity who have over 50 years’ experience supporting people to rebuild their lives and empowering positive change.

They are looking for a Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to work with high-risk/ high harm perpetrators of domestic abuse through targeted and intensive 121 work.

The services forms part of an innovative national project that aims to improve the lives and safety of victims and children, by holding high-risk perpetrators to account. The project combines case management of perpetrators with a co-ordinated multi-agency response.

 

Synopsis of duties:

  • Supporting and advocating on behalf of victims of domestic violence whose perpetrator is currently engaged in an intensive perpetrator programme for high harm/ risk abusers
  • Working proactively secure engagement, and support victims on an ongoing one-to-one offer, improving the safety of victims/survivors and linking to complementary services
  • Working alongside the Perpetrator Programme Facilitators and other professionals as part of a multi-agency framework to design a co-ordinated, strategic individual intervention plan to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours
  • Overseeing all cases which will include regularly reviewing and updating risk assessments, developing safety plans, and improving outcomes for all parties involved
  • Taking appropriate steps to protect where there is an imminent risk to the client and/ or others
  • Attending MARAC (multi agency risk assessment conference) and MATAC (multi-agency task and coordination protocol), advocating on client’s behalf and ensuring all actions are completed

 

The organisation offers excellent training and development programmes (including in house IDVA accredited training) and actively work to develop and promote their staff.

The role will involve extensive travel across Berkshire to meet with clients and professionals and the successful candidate will need a driving license and access to a car.

  • Strong working knowledge of risk management and safeguarding
  • Candidates who are passionate and committed to working within a multi-disciplinary team and will have a demonstrable track record of working with complex need service users
  • An understanding of domestic abuse and its impact, dynamics and types of abuse
  • The successful candidate will need to have driving license and access to a car
