Are you a graduate with a background in Youth and Community Studies, Criminology, or the Humanities, eager to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people? Are you aspiring to build a career in youth justice, social work, or youth mental health support? This Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role offers an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with boys and girls aged 7-16 in a specialist SEN school in Reading.

This role is much more than academic support – it’s about empowering vulnerable students, instilling self-belief, and helping them navigate their challenges. Many of the children you will work with have experienced difficult circumstances, such as domestic abuse, trafficking, or other forms of trauma. Each student has an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) focusing on their social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
