The Independent Living TEC Project in Reading is inviting applications for a locum Senior Social Worker until 31st March 2025. They have an opportunity for a Senior Social Worker to join the Independent Living Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Project (funded through the Adult Social Care Technology Fund). This research project is exploring whether the use of pattern-of-life sensor systems can support elderly and vulnerable people in Reading to live more independently. Working as a Senior Social Worker for Reading Borough Council you will be part of a friendly and supportive team. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate great communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, services users, and health care providers. About the Role: You will promote the project and encourage installation of new innovative TEC to support service users to live as independently in their own homes as possible. You will also support fellow practitioners to understand the data produced through the TEC and enable informed assessments and reviews. You will be expected to integrate into different teams within ASC to help drive engagement with service users and teams to ensure project success. You will be working in the Independent Living project with a Project Manager, two Social Care Co-ordinators and a Business Systems Analyst. Within your duties of Senior Social Worker you will be required for provided supervision to the Social Care Coordinators within the team. The project is being run as part of a wider digital integration in ASC research programme, the results of which will be fed up and shared at a national level to support ASC across the country, meaning the work you do will be felt across the country. You will need to be available for home visits and be able to base yourself in Reading at least 2 days per week. Please send your CV in the first instance for more information about this position.
