We are searching for a DevOps Engineer for an extremely exciting and technical business who offer a diverse range of market leading applications, solutions and online services to their customers. The role is offered on a remote basis with visits to the office circa twice per month for team meetings and catch-ups. Please note, the office is based in Reading, Berkshire.

In this role you will be supporting the Engineering Team, and you will be involved in the implementation, build and deployment of software solutions.

You will be responsible for the automated creation and maintenance of the Cloud Infrastructure supporting multiple projects across the business.

The role will involve:

  • Promoting DevOps practices within engineering
  • Collaborating with the Solutions Team in various projects and initiatives
  • Communicating across teams with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Designing and maintaining configuration and automation tools for continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Participating in code reviews and validation for the development teams
  • Implementing effective monitoring across various systems
  • Assisting engineering in troubleshooting system and software issues in many environments, including root cause analysis

To be a success in this role you will be a DevOps Engineer with proven commercial experience or a more Junior DevOps Engineer looking for the next step-up in your career.

The successful candidate MUST be experienced in DevOps practices with knowledge of Agile methodologies and tooling.

You will also have experience in the following key areas: -

  • CI/CD
  • ARM Templates
  • IaaS
  • PaaS
  • Networking
  • Databases
  • Scripting Languages
  • Monitoring
  • Understanding of the latest DevOps tools, technologies and best practices
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate (MCAAA) or a similar qualification or equivalent commercial experience.
  • Some experience in AWS is desirable but is NOT essential.
  • Ability to communicate with team and peers.
  • Experience producing standard technical and process outputs, reports and other documents from templates
  • Experience in using ticket systems (e.g. Jira or similar)
  • Experience in using code repositories (e.g. GitHub or Azure Repositories)
