Do you believe that every child should have a unique path to success? A primary school in Theale is on the hunt for an ASD Specialist Assistant to help students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special educational needs (SEN). If you're eager to understand and cater to each child's unique needs, recognising their strengths and challenges, you could be the perfect match!

As an ASD Specialist Assistant:
  • Work closely with students to provide tailored educational support that meets their unique development needs.
  • Be that positive, understanding presence in the classroom, helping to ensure that every child feels included, valued, and empowered to learn.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and activities, making learning accessible and engaging for students with ASD and other SEN.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience: At least 2 years in a classroom, SEN, or other child-focused setting.
  • Expertise: Previous experience with Autism and SEN is preferred-someone who gets that some students think a little differently (who doesn't appreciate a creative approach?).
  • Attitude: Patient, understanding, and ready to bring out the best in each student-come rain or, well, British weather!
ASD Specialist Assistant - Why Apply?
  • Be Part of a Welcoming Community: In Theale, we believe "community" isn't just a word-it's how we approach every day. We've got the school spirit of the Theale bun-throwing tradition and a knack for celebrating each child's little wins.
  • Make a Real Impact: You'll witness those lightbulb moments, whether it's helping a student connect with a lesson or boosting their self-confidence.
  • Grow Professionally: Receive ongoing support and development, so you're not just helping students grow, but building a rewarding career too.
