Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver educational support tailored to children with a range of needs including Emotionally Based School Avoidance, Anxiety, ASD, ADHD, cognitive delays, trauma, and sensory overloads.
- Create and implement engaging, inclusive lesson plans that accommodate the specific learning and communication needs of each student.
- Foster a therapeutic and emotionally empathetic classroom environment to support children who have struggled in mainstream settings.
- Utilise our unique resources such as an off-site therapeutic farm and an equine therapy centre to provide enriching educational experiences.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe, inspired, and valued within the school community.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting educational strategies to meet individual needs and goals.
- Strong understanding of the educational needs of children with ASD, ADHD, and other specific learning difficulties.
- Experience in supporting individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Compassionate, patient, and resilient, with a proven ability to manage challenging behaviours sensitively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external support agencies.
