Our client, based in Reading, are looking for an Inventory & Procurement Manager to take ownership of all elements of inventory control and supplier management whilst ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9120. The successful candidate will be skilled at ensuring stock levels are effectively managed, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, and meeting our high standards of delivery performance for both suppliers and customers. You will have a strong operational management background and a keen eye for detail.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Acting as the main point of contact for suppliers, managing relationships, negotiations, and performance.
  • Ensuring all supplier agreements are up to date and valid.
  • Placing and managing purchase orders, tracking deliveries and ensuring timely stock replenishment.
  • Ensuring both supplier and client delivery targets are met.
  • Ensuring customer quality requirements are understood, documented and managed effectively.
  • Managing shipping processes.
  • Using Excel and ERP/MRP systems to extract and analyse data.
  • Leading improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring all inventory and procurement processes align with ISO 9001 and AS9120 standards, including full batch control, traceability, and documentation of Certificates of Conformity.
  • Continuously reviewing and optimising procurement and inventory processes.
  • Identifying issues such as stock shortages or supply chain disruptions and escalating when necessary.
  • Working closely with sales, warehouse, and finance teams.
  • Ensuring procurement activities align with company policies and industry regulations.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven background in inventory control, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Experience working within a 9001 and AS9120-certified environment, with a clear understanding of batch control and Certificates of Conformity.
  • Experience in monitoring and improving supplier and customer performance.
  • Advanced Excel Skills - pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, conditional formatting, and other key Excel functions.
  • ERP/MRP System Experience.
  • Experience in managing supplier agreements, ensuring they remain valid and up to date.
  • Experience in stock location organisation and implementing pick-to-barcode systems is a plus.
  • Understanding of international shipping processes, including import regulations and customs clearance.
  • Highly detail-oriented and enjoy working with numbers, documentation, and compliance requirements.
