Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Commissioning Manager to work for one of our clients based in Reading, UK

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Electronic Security Systems Commissioning Manager to join our Nuclear Defence project. This is a great opportunity to be involved in one of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK today.

Your skills and experience will help deliver the successful commissioning and demonstration of all the specialist equipment, the building services and control systems required to operate the facility.


Key responsibilities

You will advise on safety requirement for commissioning activities and provide management, oversight and delivery of commissioning work packages within a complex infrastructure project.

Alongside support the management and deployment of the Overall Project Commissioning Strategy you will manage the production, review and approval of test documentation by the Suppliers. Plan and co-ordinate commissioning tests with the Suppliers, Integrate test requirements and pre-requisites into the project programme. You will assist with the development of the detailed construction schedule to ensure a phased release of works to support the commissioning activities.

Other responsibilities also include

  • Report status of the pre-requisites to commissioning works and the commissioning works by the suppliers.
  • Produce Learning from Experience reports and presentations
  • Management and implementation of commissioning stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Chair commissioning reviews with stakeholders including design reviews, change reviews and procedure reviews.
  • Management of changes to commissioning schedules, resources and forecasts.

Requirements for this position

  • Substantial experience of commissioning large facilities and managing commissioning teams to deliver successful outcomes within Electronic Security systems.
  • In depth knowledge of enterprise security systems including card access control, intruder detection systems, CCTV systems and perimeter intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience in delivering and understanding design aspects of electronic security systems.
  • Proven track record in complex project delivery, in defence (preferred) or similar technical sectors.
  • Experience in electronic security systems commissioning
  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of commissioning methodologies
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent work experience

Security: Current holder of Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance, or willing to obtain
