Responsibilities:

  • Operate all building systems competently and efficiently.
  • Issue site Permits as part of the Safe System of Work.
  • Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Tasks, updating the electronic workflow system for compliance.
  • Conduct daily checks, reporting and repairing defects via the FM helpdesk.
  • Identify and order necessary materials in a timely manner.
  • Comply with statutory and company health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Review Specialist Service Provider worksheets, inspecting work quality and escalating issues to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in plant areas, workshops, and rest areas.

Troubleshoot and work on building systems, including:- Decorating and general fabric repairs- Small plumbing repairs- Building Management Systems (training provided)- HVAC Systems, including humidifiers (training provided)- Air Handling, Air Conditioning & Chillers (training provided)- Domestic Water Services & Plumbing- Pumps, Motors & Variable Speed Drives (training provided)- Hot Water Calorifiers (training provided)- Fire Systems (training provided)

Skills:

  • Experience in Building Fabric Services.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with staff and customers at all levels.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (Trend), with training available.
  • Intermediate computer literacy, including Windows Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDA/Tablet use.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills with report writing experience.
  • Ability to adapt and contribute outside of primary trade while remaining within capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds or equivalent experience in Fabric Engineering preferred.
  • Legionella Legionary Awareness (L8 ACOP) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation relevant to safe working practises.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with sound computer proficiency.
