Lead Learning Designer

Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and proactive individual to join our busy Digital Learning and Media Services Team. As Lead Learning Designer, you will assist with the design and development of high-quality digital learning for our students, overseeing curriculum design and development whilst actively contributing to evaluation and research in online learning and digital projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with a critical function within UCEM, contributing to high-quality online learning and furthering UCEMs strategic vision to be the Centre of Excellence for Built Environment Education.


Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Manage curriculum and/or module development workstreams including all aspects of the design and development process
  • Coach and mentor others on impactful online educational experiences that are student focused
  • Contribute towards the piloting and review of technologies to support effective and innovative teaching and assessment practice
  • Keep abreast of current trends and technologies in online pedagogy

Our main requirements:

  • A degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • A proven track record of effective project management including planning and allocating work, leading meetings, prioritising tasks and reporting progress
  • Designing active learning; either fully online or blended
  • Knowledge of current digital education theories and approaches, for teaching, learning and assessment design
