Our highly successful client is growing, and they now need an experienced HGV Technician to join their dedicated team. Our client offers a great team environment and has also just built a new workshop. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the company's fleet 50 + of HGV's (7.5 and 18 tonne)

Hours Mon-Fri (phone number removed)pm + Saturdays available 8.30-12 noon.

HGV Mechanic - Main Duties:

  • Vehicle Inspections to DVSA and FTA standards

  • Fault finding, repairs & servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers

  • MOT preparation to DVSA standards

  • Vehicle servicing to vehicle manufacturing standards

  • Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant

  • Use of diagnostic equipment

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines

Skills required for the HGV Technician:

  • The successful HGV Technician must be a fully skilled with industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance and repair

  • 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)

  • High level of communication

  • Basic knowledge of computers and fleet diagnostics

  • Good organizational skills and ability to be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines

  • Must have the right to work in the UK

  • Brake experience (training can be given)

  • MOT preparation experience

  • Modern mechanical and electrical diagnostics and fault-finding

  • Accurate and timely defect reporting
