Globe Holidays are a small family orientated PSV operator looking for more than just another technician, we want a reliable, thorough and trustworthy heavy vehicle mechanic with a great work ethic who is wanting to join our team at a crucial point of restructuring and improvements with a view for further expansion.

The Role:

We are currently recruiting for askilled and experienced PSV/HGV Technician/Heavy vehicle mechanicwith a passion for keeping the wheels of our fleet turning. We require someone who takes pride in their work and is passionate about what they do. You will play a crucial role in inspecting, repairing and maintaining the reliability and safety of our fleet of Buses and Coaches.

The Key Resposibilities of the role (but not limited to) will be:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on buses to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Accurately diagnose and repair mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues.
  • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to address any arising issues promptly.
  • Attend breakdowns at customer sites.
  • Take part in the on call rota, 1 in 5 with stand-by payment plus overtime if called.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major faults or defects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant technical qualifications (NVQ, C&G or Equivalent) and/or a minimum 5 years proven experience as a mechanic on buses, HGV's or heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with experience solving root cause faults.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills at all levels with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
