About The RoleThis position is on a 2 week rota, week 1 is Monday and Wednesday early mornings and week 2 is Saturday and Sunday then the following Friday. 6.45am-1.15pm all shifts. Enhanced rate of £14.44 is paid for weekend working.Catering knowledge is an advantage along with food hygiene certificate, full training is given.Overall Purpose of the Role

  • To work as a team, responsible for the efficient and timely preparation of a quality service.
  • To assist in clearing of meals and beverages for client company employees and guests.
  • Adhere to company policy on dealing with customer comments.
  • Ensure personal appearance, including uniform, are of the highest standard at all times in line with company policy.
  • To ensure that that company brand standards are met.
  • Maintain a high standard of food presentation to maximise sales potential.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role

  • To comply with company and client policies of quality and standards in catering.
  • Ensure that customers receive a prompt and courteous service at all times.
  • Adhere to company policy on dealing with customer comments.
  • Maintain Contract health and safety, and hygiene standards following current legislation.
  • Ensure that due diligence records are completed and maintained.
  • To adhere to site cash handling procedure.

Details of the Role

  • To ensure that all clients and customers are dealt with promptly and courteously according to company standards.
  • Prepare counter to the standard laid out by the management.
  • Serve all food and beverages at the specified times and in the appropriate quantities.
  • Ensure sound knowledge of the food to be served daily, together with the appropriate garnish and portion size.
  • Ensure tables, chairs, trolleys and floors are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Assist with the washing-up of light equipment in the wash-up area.
  • Assist with the collection and removal of cutlery, crockery and trays in the appropriate way.
  • Assist in food preparation of sandwiches, salads and vegetables as instructed.
  • Clean all areas of the servery, salad bar, beverage machine and preparation areas using the nominated cleaning schedules.
  • Ensure that all floor and wall surfaces are kept clean to the prescribed height.
  • Ensure table condiments and sauces are available on the appropriate sections or tables, and replenished at regular intervals.
  • To perform any other duties which may be reasonably required by your Line Manager or the company.
  • To maintain the on site vending on a weekly basis to SLA standards.

Educational Level

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Professional Qualifications
  • Basic food hygiene (Intermediate desirable)
  • NVQ 1/2 In Customer Care

Experience

  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but is not essential Personal Characteristics/Attributes for the health & safety aspects of the role
  • Ability to follow policy and procedures
  • Willingness to bring concerns to corporate attention via prescribed channels.
  • A good team player.
  • The ability to work using their own initiative.
