I am delighted to be recruiting an Engineering & Technical Manager to join our client in driving engineering excellence and innovation in the Offshore Wind sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, control, and maintain production standards for welding technology, process reliability and equipment performance
  • Lead process innovation and development initiatives
  • Reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through continuous improvement principles
  • Drive research, development, and innovation to enhance operational efficiency
  • Ensure all processes and product handling meet safety standards
  • Collaborate with the production team to maintain operational controls
  • Lead and develop a team of production and welding engineers
  • Manage change programs, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in engineering tools and methodologies

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools, including: PDCA, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, 5 Whys, APQP4Wind
  • Leadership experience in production engineering
  • Background in welding, fabrication, and machining environments
  • Passion for developing engineering talent and driving innovation
  • Membership (or Fellowship) in a recognised professional institution (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
