Call out allowance £1,638 per annum (will be paid once deemed competent to be added to the call out rota)

Alpek Polyester UK is a subsidiary of Alpek S.A.B. de C.V., the petrochemicals business of Alfa S.A.B. de C.V., one of Mexico’s largest corporations and a global producer in 29 countries with annual sales in excess of $19 billion. Based at our 64-acre manufacturing facility at Wilton on Teesside, we produce in excess of 160KTes of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) resin chips every year.

The successful candidate should have served a recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship and ideally be qualified to HNC/NVQ 3 Level. They should also have experience of operating in a continuous production environment.

The job involves providing hands on expertise assisting the manufacturing teams in the maintenance of a wide range of mechanical equipment including centrifugal pumps, compressors, centrifuges, agitators, conveyors, valves, filters, heat exchangers etc. We are looking for candidates who relish the challenge of understanding how the equipment works and the root cause of why equipment fails.

Successful candidates must have a high concern for standards, be prepared to become part of a flexible multi-skilled team and be capable of acting under their own initiative. A flexible approach to work is also required as there is a requirement for the successful candidate to be part of a call out rota for plant support outside of normal working hours.
