Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Reporting to the Shift Manager

Based in Teesside

Position Overview:

Working as part of the Maintenance Team, reporting to the Maintenance Team leader. Carry out maintenance and associated work to the highest safety and quality standards whilst adhering to plans and schedules. Utilise expertise and knowledge to drive performance, whilst identifying opportunities for the wider maintenance function to continuously improve its daily operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate a basic understanding of Plant equipment and processes.
  2. Positively encourage a culture of safety first.
  3. Develop and create task specific RAMS.
  4. Adhere to Safe Operating Procedures and Sembcorp Management Procedures.
  5. Ensure adherence to safe systems of work at all times.
  6. To be actively involved in defect elimination.
  7. Keep maintenance workshops and storage areas clean, tidy and orderly adhering to the 5S methodology.
  8. Undertake reactive breakdown diagnosis and repair.
  9. Proactively undertake planned preventative maintenance activities as per maintenance schedules.
  10. Identification and specification of maintenance work orders.
  11. Involvement in project work as requested, including installation and commissioning of new equipment, machine modifications, improvement works, etc.
  12. Ability to source technical information as required.
  13. Generating and implementing continuous improvement ideas.
  14. Provide regular updates to Team Leader/Planners on status of ongoing maintenance activities.
  15. Fully competent at with the computerised maintenance management system and maintenance of work records (Level 2 areas).
  16. Provide cover for out of hours business needs as and when required.
  17. Role model to less experienced team members and act as coach and mentor.

Required to stand in for Team Leader and/or Planner when required.

NVQ level 3 or equivalent (Trade Specific)
