Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

  • Oversee the preparation and management of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage and control monthly and year-end closing processes, delivering accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with senior leadership to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data and maintain strong internal controls across all areas of the business.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk to ensure the company's financial health.
  • Develop and lead a small finance team, providing coaching, support, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive improvements in financial processes and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain effective relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other key stakeholders.

Key Essentials of the Financial Controller:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • Proven experience in financial control within a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software systems
