Manpower are currently recruiting for Plastic Extrusion Technician to work within a prestigious client based in Redditch.

The hours of work are Night shifts 6pm-6am Monday-Thursday, working a minimum of 48 hours a week. During initial training, the successful candidate will be required to work on day shifts 6am-6pm for 12 weeks or longer dependent on previous experience, before moving onto permanent Night shifts. Extra shifts are sometimes available dependent on workload.

Previous experience of running plastic extrusion lines producing polyolefin sheet is preferable, but consideration will be given to those with Profile or Blown Film experience. Experience of Injection Moulding machine setting and operating will also be considered.

The role involves:

  • Controlling and adjusting machines settings to ensure product quality and production rates are achieved whilst adhering to safe working practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Observation of strict quality control measurements, challenging non-conformances, and participation as required in the introduction of counter measures to prevent further quality issues.
  • Recording of hourly gauge thickness checks.
  • Involvement in basic Preventative Maintenance to help eliminate unnecessary down time.
  • Manual handling.
  • Forklift operation
  • Use of basic hand and machine tools.
  • Other general duties as required by the management team

This is an ongoing temporary position with the opportunity of leading permanent paying 11.50 per hour whilst training on days and 12.50 per hour when you start nights
