Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary: 45,000 - 55,000

My client is a well-established engineering company that designs, manufactures, and supplies a range of bespoke test equipment and systems. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will manage mechanical design projects from initial concept to delivery, create detailed mechanical designs, and provide technical support.
Key skills required for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Create and develop concepts and detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
- Design hydraulic systems and pipework layouts.
- Conduct design reviews and iterations to refine solutions based on feedback and testing results.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, assembly instructions, and fabrication drawings.
- Maintain up-to-date records of design changes and project progress.
- Work closely with project engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure design integration with overall project objectives.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to select components that meet design and performance requirements.
- Analyse design challenges and develop innovative solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
- Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to validate design concepts.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in quality control processes, including testing and validation of mechanical systems.
Key experience required for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, specifically using SolidWorks.
- Proven experience in hydraulic system design and pipework layout.
- Excellent communication skills are a must.
