The client are a manufacturer and supplier of components, products andsystemsto various industry sectors. They despatch to a global customer base and, due to continued confidence in the sectors they supply into and continued success, are seeking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to their team.
Reporting to the Engineering / Design Manager you will carry out the following dutieswithin the team.
The main purpose of the Electrical Engineer role is to be involved with the concept design of the specialist bespoke systems for the business. To ensure that all requirements arising from the sales, production and fabrication departments are dealt with. Responsible for the electrical design and development of a range of projects, starting from the initial design, working to customer specifications, preparing designs for manufacture and seeing the product through to completion. To provide technical input into the the business development and assist with future product development and new products.
Responsibilities / Job duties are as follows;
- To design and develop new products as required and to see them through to completion
- To design and develop enhancements to the existing product range
- To support other departments where required on issues of a technical nature
- Provide technical support to customer, which may involve site visits of both a national and international nature
- The production of, and maintenance of technical documentation as required, including 3D CAD models, 2D CAD drawings , DXF files for laser cutting, bill of materials , technical specifications, PCB gerber files, test data etc
- To ensure products meet mandatory legislation and customer specific legislation
- Testing of products - installation, collecting results and analysis of data - creation of tests reports
As an Electrical Engineer you will need to hold the following skills and experience.
- Extensive experience in a similar Engineering or Technical Design role within a manufacturing environment
- Extensive use of electrical design software such as PCB design software
- Experience of PLC / Logic Relay Programming and control philosophies
- Experience of Control Systems / Panel Design
- Good CAD background and would be advantageous to be conversant with Solidworks 2D / 3D Modelling and AutoCAD 2D
- Proficient MS Office user
- A knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
The client is based in Redditch sowould be easily commutable from Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Worcester, Solihull, Droitwich, Alcester.

The role is Days. 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday. Friday 7.30am to 1.30pm.
