We are hiring for an Electrical Engineer to undertake electrical design and development work in Redditch. This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the design, production, and fabrication departments. Your work will contribute to the continued rapid growth of the company, specifically in delivering bespoke electrical systems to the Rail, Marine, and Commercial industries.

Duties of an Electrical Engineer

You will be working as part of the Electrical Engineering team and will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing new products and seeing them through to completion.
  • Making enhancements to existing product lines.
  • Supporting other departments with technical issues.
  • Providing on-site and off-site technical support to customers (may involve national and international travel).
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation (e.g., 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, bills of materials, and test reports).
  • Ensuring products meet both mandatory and customer-specific legislation.
  • Testing products, collecting data, and compiling test reports.

Skills and experience of an Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer, you need to have experience with:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum qualifications: HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar. A degree is preferable.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., PCB design software).
  • Experience with PLC/Logic Relay Programming and control systems.
  • Strong CAD skills, especially in SolidWorks 2D/3D and AutoCAD 2D.

It would be beneficial to the Electrical Engineer role if you also had:

  • Experience in basic mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • An understanding of control theory, motor operation, and basic electronics.
  • Previous site work experience with the installation and implementation of plant machinery.
