Role Overview and Objectives:
This role has a very important primary function to ensure the technical solutions supplied to our customers are of the very highest standards and delivered right first time. This is delivered in two ways, one by overseeing the solution for delivery prior to it leaving the premises, two by ensuring our Engineering staff are appraised and trained on the optimal configuration for the solutions we deploy.
As Senior Engineer, you will be required to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Operations processes, outlined in the Company QMS. Your daily duties will be set out by the Operations Manager in accordance with the business needs. Some of your main duties will include:
- Investigating faults that arise. Solving them and documenting your findings to avoid re-occurrences
- Being the seal of approval for projects that are leaving the workshop, prior to installation, in a bid to drive first time success.
- Improving and re-validating service delivery documentation, such as FAT and SAT documents. These documents should provide a fail-safe testing process that identifies potential shortfalls within a build.
- Thoroughly reviewing release notes when new firmware/software is released, so that the Company has an understanding of the impact.
- Spending time with less experienced engineers, with a positive attitude towards developing them in a bid to strengthen the engineering team within the business.
Role Requirements:
- The role requires a degree/or equivalent engineering qualification, or the aspiration to attain one. A degree in communications engineering, electric engineering, physics, telecommunications or computer science.
- The successful candidate will be innovative and able to put forward a myriad of methods to complete a task, using their knowledge to reach the optimum solution.
- A team player, who has exemplary communication skills both with internal and external stakeholders who thrives on being a team player, leading by example with honesty and integrity, will to step in and help any and all staff to achieve their best knowledge skills .
- The successful candidate will aspire to develop the engineering team to drive them to a higher plateau, increasing the engineering team capability and consistency.
- Highlight, and correctly implement 'better ways of working' as part of our ISO 9001:2015 standards of continual improvement, using gained experience to uplift skills, amend or implement new processes and maintain processes continually.
- The role also requires working away from home on occasions, to complete necessary jobs, such as installs and fault-finding.
- A comprehensive knowledge and the ability to teach the use of all necessary test equipment. Be that Antenna Testers, Signal Generators, Digital Radio Test Sets and more.
- A vast knowledge of radio applications, such as TRBOnet and Radio Management, including the ability to develop your peer engineer's ability.
- Understanding of system topologies with the ability to build, fault find and service.
