Our Client is a speciality supplier and manufacturer of raw materials and chemicals for the UK Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Food Manufacturing Industries.

They are now seeking a Process Manufacturing / Warehouse Operative. This position will be site based in Redditch, Worcestershire and is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.

Job Purpose

  • Carry out day-to-day processing operations support within manufacturing concerning food & chemical processing, industrial powder packing / repacking, stock management and Health & Safety requirements.
  • As required, support the other functions within the warehouse.
  • Work with the Process Lead to ensure all processing requirements for manufacturing are met
  • Support the Process Lead to develop the capabilities for the food and chemical processing and laboratory formulation activities

Key Responsibilities

Processing

  • Work and assist in the production, packing and re-packing activities within the Food Production Rooms and Warehouse areas
  • Manage stock levels in conjunction with the Process Lead
  • Carry out cleaning activities to maintain a high standard of food hygiene
  • Assist in the writing and review of procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements
  • Support other processing activities as required
  • Checking finished records to ensure the right first-time compliance

Managing Warehouse and Stock Movements

  • Produce weekly and monthly stock reports directly relating to food and chemical processing activities
  • Ensure all packaging is available when needed
  • Taking photos, scanning documents and emailing
  • Facilitating stock audits
  • Record and maintain BRC Work Instructions
  • Re-ordering consumables
  • Liaising with QC and H&S to maintain standards of Quality Management processes, Health and Safety, hygiene and security in the work environment

Goods Dispatch

  • Arrange transport for finished goods including deliveries and collections
  • Liaising with customers hauliers to arrange collections, deliveries and maintaining detailed records of these transactions in conjunction with BSC

Health and Safety

  • Ensuring correct handling of materials at all times
  • Follow the requirements of the MSDS to ensure safe handling
  • Ensure high food safety standards are met at all times
  • Safe loading & unloading of materials and finished goods
  • Raising near miss and incident reports
  • Identifying locations of raw materials and finished products
  • Checking receipt of orders against a purchase order
  • Warehouse cleanliness

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Manufacturing experience to BRC, FSSC, GMP or similar standards
  • Clear written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail, particularly with respect to weights and measures
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Understanding SDS, COSHH and Risk Assessments

Desirable:

  • A Forklift Truck qualification and valid license
  • Knowledge of handling chemicals, as would a qualification in labelling and packing in accordance with IATA and ADR Regulations, although training will be provided
  • Operating within a warehouse environment
  • Experience within a customer service environment

In return, our Client is offering a basic salary of c£26,000 per annum, (salary is negotiable and dependent on experience), plus benefits.
