Your new company

Hays are currently working with a large national company based in Redditch, who are looking to appoint an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their team. This role is a maternity cover position and may turn into a permanent role as the business and team are growing.

Your new role

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day to day tasks within the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining relationships, and supervising a team of accounts payable clerks. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Duties will include:

  • Supervise and assist the accounts payable team, ensuring daily tasks are completed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Maintain and update vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Review payment runs, ensuring proper authorisation and documentation is obtained.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices.
  • Prepare and analyse accounts payable reports and metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience within a similar senior accounts payable role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
